Research Output RR_02 is:

Reading Room_02: Bardsley v Bachelard: The Poetics of Space

(10-hours duration over two days)

This Reading Room set up a dialogue between scale models of two buildings in rural Portugal; a House and a Barn. A grid of nine display tables became the 'chapters' of the rewritten book with two further action/workbenches book-ending the space. During this reading Bardsley and two invited Actioneer/Performers 'wrote' with matter, sound and objects on the 'pages' of the space in coexistence with the complete reading of Gaston Bachelard‘s book The Poetics of Space by the live Reader, veiled behind gauze.

RR_02 Team:

Architect & Actioneer - Julia Bardsley
