The DeepMind Scholarship at Queen Mary University of London is a programme to support and encourage under-represented groups to pursue postgraduate education in the field of Artificial Intelligence. 

The scholarship is available to female applicants and/or black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME) applicants who wish to study for a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London; these students are currently under-represented in this area of study.

For 2020-21, the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science will be offering five fully funded scholarships, which will include a fee waiver, a living allowance of £15,480, plus a travel grant of £2,000 and a one-off equipment grant of £1,500.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply for The DeepMind Scholarship you must:

1. Be a UK/EU student ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and be eligible to pay UK student fees;

2. Identify as female and/or are from Black, Asian or a minority ethnicity, each being underrepresented groups in the field of Artificial Intelligence;

3. Have accepted an offer to study for an MSc in Artificial Intelligence (Full Time) at Queen Mary University of London in the academic year 2020-2021.

How do I apply?

Please download, complete and submit the application form to ioc@qmul.ac.uk.

To complete your application, you will need to provide:

  1. A copy of your offer letter to study MSc in Artificial Intelligence (Full Time) programme at Queen Mary, or your application ID number if you do not yet know the outcome of your application;
  2. A completed application form, including a short statement of no more than 500 words detailing why you should be considered for the award and what motivated your interest in a MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary University of London
