The A*STAR Research Attachment Programme (ARAP) is a collaboration between A*STAR and Queen Mary University of London to provide research opportunities for PhD students at A*STAR Research Institutes.
Under this programme, PhD students from Queen Mary will spend two years at A*STAR Research Institutes under the joint supervision of staff of the A*STAR Research Institutes and Queen Mary.
The PhD student will apply to Queen Mary and be registered as a full-time Queen Mary University of London student. There will be one supervisor at Queen Mary and another based in Singapore, at the A*STAR Institute.
Year 1: Full year spent at Queen Mary beginning research project and undertaking researcher training.
Year 2: Move to A*STAR Institute in Singapore.
Year 3: Continue research at the A*STAR Institute in Singaore.
Year 4: Return to the UK to write-up the PhD thesis then graduate with a Queen Mary University of London degree.
These scholarships are funded for 3.5 years. Tuition fees are covered an a monthly stipend will be paid directly to the student.
