Entry requirements for the SEFP are lower than for direct entry to a three-year BSc or MSci. |A-levels||Minimum CCC from 3 A-levels, to include two science subjects: biology or chemistry|
|IB||International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 26 points overall with grade 3 in two Higher Level subjects (biology or chemistry plus a further science subject)|
|BTEC||Extended Diploma in Applied Science, Biomedical Science, Analytical and Forensic Science or Physical Science at DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit)|
|Access HE||Overall Pass with 60 credits overall with a minimum of 45 Level 3 credits|
|International qualifications||EU and international students whose qualifications are not listed should email email@example.com for their country-specific entry requirements|
International students who do not meet our entry requirements for the SEFP may be interested in our International Science and Engineering Foundation Programme (ISEFP), a one-year qualification which gives international students the chance to improve their English language and academic skills.
All students must meet Queen Mary's English language requirements. For students from outside the United Kingdom, you must give evidence of your English language ability by producing an English language test score.

The academic qualifications needed for the International Science and Engineering Foundation Programme are lower than the admissions requirements for direct entry to a three-year BSc/BEng or a four-year MSci/MEng degree programme or for entry onto our SEFP.
You will need to provide transcripts (official report/certificate of grades or percentages) from one of the following:

For students from outside the United Kingdom, you must give evidence of your English language ability by producing an English language test score.
Students that have yet to take an English proficiency test may still apply for the Foundation Programme and will be made a conditional offer subject to meeting the minimum requirement for English proficiency.
Students who intend to apply for undergraduate degrees at high ranking universities, or for degrees which have a high number of applicants such as Biomedical Sciences, are advised to achieve an English proficiency score of IELTS 6.0 with 6.0 in writing (or equivalent) before starting the International SEFP.
