Project title: Divergent synthesis of polycyclic heterocycles via direct C(sp3)-H bond activation
Summary: Heterocycles play an important role in many biological processes, and are commonly found in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. In this proposal we plan to exploit and enhance a new strategy for aliphatic C-H bond activation to develop a new synthetic route to heterocycles. This strategy will enable quick access to a diverse library of heterocyclic structures adorned with functionality associated with pharmaceutical and agrochemical activity. Cost effectiveness is also addressed here as this methodology generates complex molecules in a single step and an atom-economical nature.
