Project Title: Novel imprinted polymers as sensors for the detection of caffeine and other xanthines
Summary: His project will focus on the development of MIPs to be used as sensors for the detection of caffeine and other xanthines. The first step will be the selection of flurogenic or colorigenic monomers with a computational approach. The MIPs and corresponding NIPs will then be synthesized and characterised. The second part of the project will focus on the use of the polymers as sensors for xanthines, and comparison with the biosensors already available at the industrial partner Biorealis.
Luca has joined Prof. Resmini’s research group in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences. He is employed on the IPCOS project as a Marie Curie Fellow Early Stage Researcher.
