Project title: Evolutionary genetics of dietary adaptations in bats

Summary: In my PhD, I am researching the evolution of echolocation in bats and the way that this ties into divergence of novel forms and eventually speciation in sympatry. I'm using RNA and DNA sequence data in order to investigate the genetic basis of variation within these traits and to try to identify genomic regions which may impact both the divergence of phenotypic traits and the development of reproductive isolation, as these kinds of region are likely to be key in driving speciation.
