London NERC Doctoral Training Partnership

London NERC

The London NERC DTP is a partnership of nine prestigious research organisations across London, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). The DTP offers four-year PhD studentships across a range of research areas within the natural sciences.

Students will be trained by nine of the world leading research centres, which cover a huge range of the environmental sciences from those driven by contemporary environmental challenges to those exploring challenging questions about the evolution of the planet. The aim of this partnership is to attain new standards of excellence in environmental science research training and deliver a transformative inter-disciplinary experience for PhD students in the heart of London.

As a member of this DTP, we offer the opportunity for students to complete their PhD project with our School. A list of example projects can be found on the London NERC DTP website, but students are also invited to contact prospective supervisors in our School to develop their own bespoke projects.
