The London Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme (LIDo) is one of the largest Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) funded Doctoral Training Partnerships in the UK.
Representing an exciting collaboration between six of London's world-class universities and specialist institutions, the consortium provides students with a unique opportunity to pursue
innovative interdisciplinary research projects in
the heart of one of the world's most vibrant cities.
The DTP offers four-year PhD studentships across a range of research projects within the BBSRC priority areas. Students start with a foundation year that provides key skills in important areas of modern biology along with two lab rotations in which students complete a mini-project related to their PhD choice. From Year 2 of the programme students are dedicated to their PhD projects. All projects are inter-disciplinary and require students to use mathematical, computational and engineering approaches to solve biological problems.
As a member of this DTP, we offer the opportunity for students to complete their research project with our School. A list of example projects can be found on the LIDo DTP website.
Applications are now closed for entry to the programme in September 2019. The deadline for applications was 11th January 2019.
For information on how to apply, please see the LIDo DTP website.
