Two scientists from Queen Mary’s School of Biological and Chemical Sciences spoke at a science summer school event this week with Professor Brian Cox. Mathematical biologist Dr Steve Le Comber and PhD student James Borrell were invited along with other top scientists to deliver talks at the St Paul’s Way Trust Science Summer School 2015.

The St Paul’s Way Trust School is a Royal Society School and the first Faraday Science School in London.  They place science at the heart of their curriculum, and students have access to state-of-the-art research laboratories, which were designed by Queen Mary.

Their two-day Science Summer School, now in its fourth year, aims to inspire young people about science and other STEM subjects.  The event is hosted by their Patron, Professor Brian Cox, who also gave a talk at the event.

Dr Le Comber gave a talk on “Mole-rat mathematicians: fractal geometry in biology”, while James Borrell spoke about the future of conservation.
