After receiving an initial nomination, Dr Darbari was selected by an expert panel to receive the award in recognition of her impact in the field of Structural Biology. She will be presented the award at the upcoming BCA Spring Meeting on 28 March where she will also deliver a lecture to the attendees.

Impressively, this is Dr Darbari’s second major award after receiving the Early Career Research Award from the Biochemical Society in 2011. She says her next goal is to get her independent research going, which focuses on Mycobacterial Mammalian Cell entry proteins and their role in latent tuberculosis.

Congratulations to Dr Darbari on her achievement and we’re all greatly looking forward to seeing how her new research progresses.
