IUBMB Enzyme Nomenclature

EC 3.2.1.105

Accepted name: 3α(S)-strictosidine β-glucosidase

Reaction: strictosidine + H2O = D-glucose + strictosidine aglycone

Systematic name: strictosidine β-D-glucohydrolase

Comments: Does not act on a number of closely related glycosides. Strictosidine is a precursor of indole alkaloids.
