Comments: Requires iron(II). The enzyme, characterized from the marine bacterium Gimesia maris, participates in a methylphosphonate degradation pathway. It also has the activity of EC 188.8.131.52, (2-amino-1-hydroxyethyl)phosphonate dioxygenase (glycine-forming).
