This year's annual Dewar Lecture and RSC Award Lecture will be presented by Professor Margaret Brimble from University of Auckland who will deliver a lecture titled 'Nature’s Medicine Chest: Opportunities for Synthesis and Drug Discovery'.

Professor Margaret Brimble serves as the Chair of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry at The University of Auckland. Professor Brimble's research focuses on the synthesis of bioactive natural products as novel anticancer, antibacterial and antiviral agents, treatments for neurodegenerative disorders, and components for melanoma vaccines. She has been Member of Science Advisory Board at OBodies Limited since May 2012. Professor Brimble is chair of the Rutherford Foundation and a member of the Marsden Fund Council and a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
