Seminar Series - Thermally triggered theranostic nano-assassins for pancreatic cancer therapy

1 February 2019

Time: 12:30 - 1:30pm
Speaker: Dr Clare Hoskins, Keele University
Venue: Room 2.40 in the Bancroft Building

In this Chemistry and Biochemistry seminar, Dr Clare Hoskins of Keele University will deliver a talk on ‘Thermally triggered theranostic nano-assassins for pancreatic cancer therapy'.

Clare completed her PhD in pharmaceutics at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2009.  She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Medical Science and Technology at the University of Dundee. Here she investigated the potential use of magnetic nanoparticles for nerve regeneration in the peripheral nervous system.  Her work now focuses on the investigation into hybrid metallic nanoparticles as multifunctional vehicles for imaging and targeted drug delivery for pancreatic cancer. She is a member of both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the UK and Ireland Controlled Release Society.

This seminar is open to all.
