12 September 2019

Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Venue: Room 3.02, Bancroft Road Teaching Rooms

This year’s SBCS TIGER Educational Research Forum will explore lecture capture technology.

Lecture capture (called Qreview at Queen Mary) is frequently requested by students and although many staff make recordings of their lectures available online, some staff oppose it.  The TIGER Forum will explore some of the why and how questions around lecture capture technology and discuss its role, if any, in higher education.

Invited speakers and presentations are:

  • The student perspective: Talhah Atcha (Queen Mary Students' Union)
  • Student uses of lecture capture: Dr Ellie Dommett (Department of Psychology, King's College London)
  • Using lecture capture to enhance teaching: Dr Steven Buckingham (School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Queen Mary)
  • Supporting students' learning needs: Simon Jarvis (Disability and Dyslexia Service, Queen Mary)
  • Lecture capture analytics: Stella Ekebuisi & Manoj Singh (eLearning Unit, Queen Mary)

Presentations will be followed by an open discussion.
