Inspiring Talks - Dominic Johnson-Hill (Entrepreneurship)

20 September 2018

Time: 4:00 - 5:00pm
Speaker: Dominic Johnson-Hill
Venue: Fogg Lecture Theatre, Fogg Building

This year, the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS) will be running a series of Inspiring Talks, which aim to introduce students to successful people from a variety of backgrounds and learn about different industries and career paths.

Dominic Johnson-Hill

In the first Inspiring Talk, entrepreneur Dominic Johnson-Hill will be speaking to students about the entreprenurial skills that helped turn £4,000 and a 12-foot store into one of the most recognisable brands in Beijing. His Plastered t-shirt brand has expanded to stores all over the city and attract celebrities from across the globe. Dominic was awarded the British Chamber of Commerce in China's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2008 and has since gone on to present his own travel show in China.

With an increasing number of students starting their own businesses and getting involved in startups in recent years, this talk will help students see what can be achieved, even with limited financial backing.

To get inspired by Dominic's unique story, please register your attendance here.

Spaces are limited for this talk. The talk is open to all Queen Mary students and staff.
