When is Clearing?

Clearing matches applicants to university places that are yet to be filled. It's available to anyone who has made a UCAS Undergraduate application and doesn't hold any offers. Running from 5 July to mid-September, you'll be eligible for Clearing if:

You can use Clearing to apply for courses that still have available places if you:

  • you apply after 30 June 2019
  • you are not holding any offers from universities or colleges you've applied to
  • your place is not confirmed after exam results are published

What is Adjustment?

Adjustment is a service offered by UCAS that is available from A level results day (15 August - 31 August 2019). It’s entirely optional, but offers the chance for applicants who have received better results than expected to look for another programme or university, whilst still retaining their current offer.

If you meet and exceed the conditions of your original firm choice, you will be able to register for Adjustment on UCAS Track.

For more information on courses, top tips, campus life and accomodation and international students, please see our Clearing and Adjustment website

I knew that my results hadn’t gone as well as I needed them to, so before Results Day I started looking up courses through UCAS and came across Queen Mary. It had everything that I was looking for in a university. Coming to Queen Mary was the best decision I ever made and I wouldn’t be here without Clearing
