Profile

Project title: A life-course analysis of gene-environment interplay in mental health and personal wellbeing

Summary: This research project will be using a multidisciplinary approach, combining genome-wide molecular genetics, psychology and biostatistical research methods to investigate the role of genes, environments and gene-environment interplay on mental health & wellbeing outcomes using a life course perspective. Specifically, results from existing and emerging genome-wide association studies will be used to calculate polygenic scores for psychological outcomes, which will then be applied in longitudinal datasets to investigate gene-environment interactions and correlations throughout different stages of life.
