For QMUL undergraduate students:

  • We are looking for highly motivated UG students to participate in small lab-projects which will include robot programming and applications demonstration. This projects are unpaid, but will provide you an opportunity to learn how to use advanced robotics hardware and software, and will help your to improve your R&D skills for your future career. You will be provided lab space and active supervision by QMUL faculty.
  • Eligibility: QMUL student interested in robotics, good programming/integration skills

PhD studentship in Soft Robotics:

Topic: Soft robots physically interacting with the environment: design, control and applications
Deadline: April 18, 2017
The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London has three fully-funded studentships for exceptional PhD applicants to join our school. Applications will be considered in any area of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science including soft robotics.
The studentship is funded for 3 years, includes a tax-free bursary ~£16.5K/year and a fee waiver (including non-EU students). Starting date: September-October 2017.
This studentship is highly competitive, therefore candidates must have a first-class honours degree or equivalent, and/or a good MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. Experience in research and a track record of international peer-reviewed publications are advantageous. Excellent knowledge and skills in robotics, control, mechatronics and programming are essential.
The PhD project will be co-supervised by Professor Kaspar Althoefer, Dr Ildar Farkhatdinov and Dr Lorenzo Jamone.
