The REF 2021 exercise has confirmed that Queen Mary is one of the United Kingdom’s top research-intensive universities, with several departments ranked highly, and the Queen Mary Drama Department ranked first in the country for the quality of its research.
Many of Queen Mary’s submissions spoke to the University’s particular expertise around social justice and social mobility, as well as health and equality outcomes for the diverse communities we serve.
The vast majority – 92% – of our research submissions were assessed as internationally excellent or world-leading.
