Dates and Additional Information

The Peer Support Programme for Postdocs will establish small groups of postdoc support by providing participants with some training in coaching and problem solving methods. Groups will be supported to continue to meet following the training.

The Aims of the Programme:

  • To foster new and greater links between postdocs from different Schools/Institutes across the University,
  • To give postdocs opportunies to raise personal issues that are impacting their workplace wellbeing, or their career development
  • To help postdocs develop action strategies to mitigate these issues.

The training for this programme will be delivered by Daniela Bultoc.

Daniela Bultoc (Twitter: @DanielaBultoc) is a multi-award recognised Organisational and Researcher Development consultant, trainer, and coach.

Want to help facilitate an Action Learning Cohort?

We would like to encourage postdocs who have participated in the peer support programme before, who have attended training with past cohorts to come forward to help facilitate more Action Learning Set cohorts. If you're interested, please contact Researcher Development at resdev@qmul.ac.uk.

When I joined the session I was very stressed, tired, and generally feeling overwhelmed and agitated. By the end of the session I felt soft, connected to my peers, empowered to take on new challenges, and I was more aware of the type of support I give [and] receive

Daniela created such an amazing space for us in the zoom sessions. She was an amazing role model demonstrating and guiding us to be soft, open, grounded, and present in the moment. She also role modeled what type of reflections are useful for other people to share and she created flexibility for small-talk and personal bonding, while also keeping us on track and productive

I feel like I have created relationships with people I normally wouldn't and I feel really motivated to also maybe think of interdisciplinary research projects based on the connections I have made
