Gender equality affects everyone, students and staff alike. Our gender activity programme at QMUL is progressed through the national Athena SWAN Charter and framework. The School of Geography and School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science recently earned bronze awards, and this November the university is going for an institutional silver award.

QMUL announces record number of merit-based scholarships

Over 350 scholarships will be available to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students in 2017-18, alongside the significant number of bursaries that we offer.

UK Ambassador attends launch of our Joint Educational Institute in China

Queen Mary and the Northwestern Polytechnical University officially launched their Joint Educational Institute in a high-profile ceremony attended by Dame Barbara Woodward, British Ambassador to China.

New donation banks at the Mile End campus

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has installed three banks where students can donate unwanted clothes, shoes, books, electrical items and more, which are then delivered to local BHF charity shops to raise money for lifesaving research.

Lord Heseltine delivers lecture on devolution at QMUL

Speaking at the second annual Hennessy Lecture at the Mile End Institute, former Deputy Prime Minister Michael Heseltine called for a more radical and ambitious approach to devolution.

Open to final-year UK and EU undergraduates, Careers and Enterprise are trialling a new tool to help you better understand your strengths, and perform well in strengths-based recruitment interviews.

Get paid to take part in psychological research
Sign up via QMplus to participate in paid or unpaid human psychological research run by QMUL staff and students. All research complies with the QMUL policy on ethical research, and you can leave the QMplus online forum at any time.

 The Queen Mary Student Survey (returning undergraduate students) and the QMSS Arrivals Survey (new undergraduate and postgraduate taught students) will close on Monday 31 October. Make sure you have your say!

Updates from your Students' Union

The Students’ Union has been busy these past couple of weeks, holding the first Student Council of the year, announcing the results of the recent by-elections and producing a 'Freshers Highlights' video showcasing the events which took place over Welcome Fortnight.

They also provide the Hardship Sports Fund which could help you to get involved in sport if finances are a barrier.
