The Centre for Public Engagement run regular fortnightly Advice Surgeries where you can pick the team’s brains about all things public engagement. We are happy to discuss potential ideas, assist with project development, look at logistics, signpost to funding, and more, both within Queen Mary and the wider public engagement landscape.
Each surgery slot lasts for 30 minutes and provides bespoke, one-to-one support between yourself and a member of staff from the CPE.
To book a slot: Email us with your preferred date, time, and the reason for attending the surgery. You will receive an email to confirm the booking.
Advice Surgeries are staffed by one or two members of the Centre for Public Engagement who will be sat at a table in the session location with a small, table-top Advice Surgery banner. You can also view the staff biographies to so you know the faces that you'll be looking for.

To get to the Senior Common Room you will need to enter through the front doors and go up the staircase directly to the left of the building entrance. The SCR is behind the frosted glass door you come to on the first floor. If you need directions on the day, you can ask reception in the Queen's Building Foyer.
The Blizard Building (number 6 on the campus map) is a pair of interconnected large glass buildings opposite the Students' Union building off Newark Street. Dawson’s Hall (number 4 on the campus map) is the large residential block on the Charterhouse Square Campus, opposite the green. To get to The Shield, enter the building through the double doors and up the steps into the foyer area. The Shield is through the doors on your left.
