This module equips students with a range of tools to enhance the study and analysis of politics. Students will learn how to read and interpret various political texts, including books, journals, newspaper articles and political documents such as speeches and manifestos. Students will also be encouraged to develop their skills of critical analysis and reflective writing.
The module takes the form of weekly two-hour workshops and students will also receive guidance from their personal advisers.
This module is compulsory for all BA Politics and BA International Relations students.
Assessment: Essay (1000 words) 30%; Essay (2000 words) 50%, and Exam (1.5 hours) 20%
