Before joining Queen Mary, I was a Teaching Fellow at UCL and SOAS, where I taught Political Economy, Politics of Development and Quantitative Methods. I see myself as an interdisciplinary scholar (Economics and Political Science) interested in the political factors that shape development. Professionally I have worked with civil society organizations in the design and implementation of transparency and accountability initiatives on public budgets and extractive industries.
In term B of the 2018/9 academic year, I will be convening Latin American Politics and teaching a few lectures for International Politics of the Developing World.
My main areas of research are on the Politics of Natural Resources and on the Politics of Policymaking, with a regional interest in Latin America.
