Research topic: 'Constitutionalising' the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice: The Strategic Use of Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) Case Law by European Commission Policy Actors 

Research Interests: European Union politics and policy-making, European Union Justice and Home Affairs policy, Comparative European politics, Migration, asylum, border controls, European Union law

Education:

  • MSc in International Migration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
  • BA (Hons) in Political Science from McGill University

Work experience: Most recently, Tinahy was a Teaching Associate within the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR) at QMUL. She has also worked within the humanitarian sector in Geneva, Switzerland.

Awards and Prizes:

  • Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP) studentship (2017-2021)
  • Winner of the London School of Economics and Political Science MSc IMPP Prize for best overall performance (2014-2015)
