Professor Philip Cowley, Why Dominic Grieve is the UK’s most important man on Brexit

Theresa May will take the flagship Brexit repeal bill, which aims to provide certainty for businesses that existing British laws derived from the EU will continue to apply after the UK has left, back to Parliament for debate. However, Dominic Grieve, former attorney general and ex-army reservist who chairs Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee, is marshalling moderates with the aim of foiling Brexit hardliners - reports Bloomberg Politics. Professor Philip Cowley said: “It’s very hard to paint Grieve as an anarchist who’s trying to bring down the government, so Tories can support him. And his legal expertise means his suggestions are taken seriously. He’s the ideal leader for a rebellion on this.”
