Philip Cowley has co-written an article in The Telegraph about what can be learned by looking at how the areas in which football league clubs are found voted in the referendum in June. The article reads: “A majority of clubs in the four divisions in England and Wales are in constituencies that voted Leave. That’s not that much of a surprise, because more people voted Leave than Remain in around two-thirds of constituencies. What is more surprising is that there is only a small difference between the leagues.”
