Professor Tim Bale, Fringe parties thrive as UK voters cut old ties

As mainstream political party membership continues to fall, the fringe parties have enjoyed a boost over the past three months. “What’s happening with voters is a sense that people are more excited by these supposedly more authentic alternatives to the old, traditional, ‘lamestream mainstream’ parties,” said   Professor Tim Bale in an article in the Financial Times.
