2 December 2022

Time: 6:00 - 7:30pm
Venue: University of London Institute in Paris 9-11 Rue de Constantine 75007 Paris France

In his recent book Uncommon Wealth, Dr Kojo Koram (Birkbeck) traces how the end of the British empire enriched elites at the expense of ordinary people in Britain’s former colonies. Ricocheting back home, this imperial boomerang also came to entrench inequalities in the United Kingdom.

Dr Kojo Koram (Birkbeck) will be in conversation with Dr Musab Younis (QMUL, ULIP) to explore how the history of British colonialism sheds light on Europe's past, present and future role in the world.

The event is part of the CER Paris seminar series 'The Idea of Europe: Past, Present and Future.' It is open to the public.
