Profile

Mary was a Labour Member of the European Parliament from 2000 to 2019 representing London. She served as Vice-Chair of the Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee from 2016 to 2019. Mary has written two books - Parliamentary Pioneers: Labour Women MPs, 1918-1945 (Urbane, 2015) and Edith Summerskill: The Life and Times of a Pioneering Feminist Labour MP (Bloomsbury Academic, 2022).
