Freya Marshall Payne is a writer and doctoral student researching the life stories of women who have experienced homelessness at the University of Oxford's Centre for Life-Writing and Department of Education. Her ESRC-funded research is an interdisciplinary project spanning life-writing, education, and contemporary social history. Her research interests include personal testimonies as sources; working-class politics and culture; and grassroots activism and DIY media production. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Vice, The Times Literary Supplement, Los Angeles Review of Books, and the journal Twentieth Century British History.
