Dr Andy Holroyde completed his PhD at the University of Huddersfield, as part of the Heritage Consortium, in 2019. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, his project explored Sheltered Employment and Disability in the British Welfare State during the period 1944-1979. His primary research interests continue to be the development of sheltered employment for disabled people and the notion of inclusive economies. With a background in education, he is also interested in the teaching of the subject of History and the promotion of historical knowledge and skills in schools.
