Queen Mary's Principal appointed to HESA board

Queen Mary’s Principal, Professor Simon Gaskell, has been appointed to the board of the Higher Education Statistics Agency as a non-executive director. He is one of four HESA board members appointed by Universities UK.

The Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) is the official agency for the collection, analysis and dissemination of quantitative information about higher education.

The role of the HESA board is to make the highest level decisions about the running of the company. With the exception of HESA's Chief Executive all board members are Principals or Vice Chancellors of UK higher education institutions.

HESA supports the advancement of UK higher education in response to the needs of all those with an interest in its characteristics and a stake in its future.
