Starting your studies: student induction

New QMUL students - Welcome Week and induction

Term starts on Monday 17th September 2018 with Welcome Week, and teaching starts on Monday 24th September 2018.

We provide an induction programme for all new MSc students during Welcome Week. If you're starting a joint programme you will also be able to attend induction activities run by the partner School.  Click the link at the top of the page for more information.

MSc Mathematics

As a new student starting this September you are required to meet with the Programme Director, Dr Rosemary Harris(link sends e-mail) (link sends e-mail), during Welcome Week to discuss your background and module selection.  This individual meeting is compulsory before your module choices can be approved.  Further details and an online scheduler to sign-up for a convenient slot can can be found on the MSc Maths QMplus page(link is external).

MSc Mathematical Finance

As a new student starting this September you will have the opportunity to meet with your Programme Director Dr. Michael Phillips(link sends e-mail) (link sends e-mail), to discuss your elective module choices. This meeting will take place within the first two weeks of term. Please ensure you have looked over the programme outline before attending your appointment in order to aid discussion and decision making.

MSc Financial Computing

As a new student starting this September you will have the opportunity to meet with your Programme Director Dr. Michael Phillips(link sends e-mail) (link sends e-mail), to discuss your elective module choices. This meeting will take place in the first two weeks of term. Please ensure you have looked over the programme outline before attending your appointment in order to aid discussion and decision making.

MSc Network Science

As a new student starting this September you are invited to meet with the Programme Director, Dr Vincenzo Nicosia to discuss the programme and your module choices during welcome week. This meeting is an important part of your programme induction.

Once you have registered for your modules, you will be able to check your personalised timetable via your MySIS(link is external) profile page, QMplus(link is external) and the Queen Mary timetable(link is external). Please note that the timetable will be subject to change up to, and during, the first couple of weeks of term to accommodate changes in student numbers registering for modules and necessary room allocations.
