Coronavirus advice for applicants and offer holders -FAQs

We have received a number of queries from applicants and offer-holders regarding the impact of the global Coronavirus outbreak on their application to study Medicine MBBS at Queen Mary University of London, Malta Campus. We continue to follow the guidance from the UK and Maltese Governments. The advice and guidance provided here is the best information available at the time and will be updated regularly.

Supporting you

We’re here to help you through the challenges and uncertainty this period brings. There are many ways we can help:

  • Speak to our current students online at Unibuddy
  • Contact us if you have any questions or concerns

Yes, we are continuing to assess applications for 2020 entry. We are open for Clearing applications. Please submit your application at your earliest opportunity.

How to apply

Grades for GCSE, AS and A level and Extended Projects (EPQ) will be determined by teachers in summer 2020, in line with strict guidance published by Ofqual. Queen Mary will accept grades awarded through the teacher assessment process described by Ofqual in this guidance. A Level results in the UK will be released on Thursday 13 August. Further information regarding the cancellation of GCSEs, AS and A Levels can be found on the UK Government website.

IB Certificates and Diplomas will be awarded to each student for the May 2020 session. We will use these grades to confirm decisions on applications for September 2020 entry.

Further information on the awarding of IB grades and awards can be found on the IBO website.

In some cases, Centres will be asked to make an objective judgement on private candidates that have been registered at their centre. Where this is not possible, candidates will be able to sit their exams in the Autumn term.

At this late stage in the cycle, we are unable to extend your deadline. You may be able to accept your offer and/or pay your deposit after the deadline, however, this will be dependent upon the number of accepted students we have at that time.
