Now in its second year, the Life Sciences Image awards have attracted outstanding and engaging images produced by QMUL staff and students around the themes of:

  • Health and wellbeing
How do you keep healthy? What does ‘wellbeing’ mean to you?
  • Health and technology
What is the future of health and technology? How can technology help to improve our health?
  • Beauty in medicine
Can medical research be beautiful as well as important? Is there beauty in science and research?

Images can be digital or hard copy and created using any media, including photography, illustrations (hand-drawn or digital), paintings, cartoons, medical imagery such as MRI scans, microscopy, or any other artistic or scientific technique. See Past Awards.

Shortlisted images will be displayed at Ideas UnwrappedFestival of Communities and the Barts and Queen Mary Science Festival, with the competition winners being announced at the official Prize-giving Ceremony and Exhibition on 26 June.

Our judging panel will select their favourite image submitted from each theme with each receiving a £50 Amazon voucher. The overall prize winner will receive an Apple iPad Pro with Apple pencil.
