One Day Pass Policy

 

The following categories are welcome to visit our libraries once per academic year with a One Day Pass, without the need to apply in advance, providing that they can prove their ID e.g. institutional ID card; SCONUL confirmation email; Access25 cards

  • University of London students
  • SCONUL Access scheme members
  • Queen Mary Alumni
  • University of London external programme students
  • INTO London students
  • Access25 card holders

Members of the general public and private researchers are welcome to visit the libraries with a One Day Pass if they can demonstrate a genuine research need. They will be asked to provide detail of their research and a list of resources they intend to use.

There is no need to apply in advance to obtain a One Day Pass. Just turn up at the Library Welcome Desk during staffed hours, with a valid form of official ID and a student/staff/SCONUL ID. You will be asked to complete a form and, if you satisfy the criteria above, you will be given a One Day Pass.

One Day Passes are valid until the closing time of the Library and can be obtained once per academic year only.

Please note:

  • External visitors do not have access to PCs, electronic resources or the Queen Mary Wi-Fi network
  • We reserve the right to restrict access during exam periods.

If you require multi-day access and are not eligible for the SCONUL Access Scheme, you may be able to apply for Temporary Membership if you can demonstrate a genuine research need. The maximum length of the membership is three months, renewable, and access during term time is limited to off-peak hours (Monday to Friday 18:00-00:00 and Weekends 08:00-00:00).
