Research skills support for staff

Library Services provide information literacy teaching and support for students at all levels across the University.

We can help your students with vital skills needed to enable them to succeed in their academic work at university:

  • Finding high quality information, including how to use the Library Search and effective database searching
  • Referencing and using reference management toolsLecturer stands amongst students

We have an online module, Find It! Use it! Reference It!, which is a great introduction to these skills for new students. A certificate of completion is available for students who complete the full module.

If you would like us to run an induction session or more in-depth workshop for your students, please contact your liaison librarian. We can work with you to tailor these to the needs of your students.

We also run a number of workshops which students can sign up to, as well as providing drop-in sessions and one-to-one support. If students have any questions on information sources, how to find information, or how to reference their work, please refer them to these sessions, or they can always email their liaison librarian to further discuss their needs.

We can also provide support for your research. See our research support pages for more details of the teaching and support we provide for researchers.

Your resources and help have been incredibly useful supporting our move to blended learning and also for the students to help get them up to speed.
