The list of graduates is extensive, reflecting the growth of the College. During the Second World student numbers naturally decreased, varying from 276 to 400, compared to 447 in 1939.

During the War the College was evacuated to King’s College, Cambridge and the grounds were occupied by King’s Royal Rifles, Auxiliary Pioneer Corps and Stepney Borough Council. The College escaped heavy damage, though some superficial and serious damage was felt by bomb blasts in the vicinity.

The end of the War brought a period of expansion of facilities and student numbers, which increased from 853 in 1947 to 2162 in 1967.
