The Law in Context Module gives you vital practical knowledge, skills and experience to fully prepare you for your studies and beyond. This compulsory first-year module explores a variety of career paths, within and outside the legal professions, through activities which reflect real working life. These include mock trials (mooting), interpreting case law and building a defence. You will also work on CV writing and networking skills to help you get the edge in this competitive environment.
The Law in Practice programme gives you the chance to learn first-hand what it is like to work in a law firm and to better understand this type of business and career path before you complete your degree. Becoming a student advisor at the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) provides our students with the opportunity to experience law in a practical context and to develop providing first-tier legal advice to the public. Set up by the Sutton Trust and The Legal Education Foundation in 2006, the Pathways2Law programme to inspires and supports academically-able students from non-privileged backgrounds, who are interested in a career in Law. Being P2L Student Ambassador is a fantastic opportunity to support this programme by assisting at visits and events, mentoring participants and being positive role models.
