LLM and Diploma Induction

Welcome to Queen Mary University of London (QMUL)! This section contains important information for LLM and Diploma students starting in September 2018

Induction information for our other postgraduate programmes will be available shortly.

Induction and enrolment September 2018

Please read the induction event overview [PDF 211KB]. After enrolment, Induction events will start on Tuesday 18 September 2018.

The International Student Welcome

This first session will be on Tuesday 18 September - 15:30 - 17:00. This is a QMUL advisory event and is compulsory (and highly recommended) for International students - Home and EU students need not attend. Venue: Great Hall, Peoples Palace, Mile End Campus (see maps below).

LLM Key Information Session: Overview, Module Selection, Assessment and Q/A

This will be held on the morning of Wednesday 19 September. The LLM Overview session will cover dates and deadlines, module selection advice, assessment guidance and a Q/A session (and much more). This is when you will receive your full induction programme and vital student pack. See Induction event overview for more details on timings and location. Students attending Cumberland Lodge should NOT attend this session as you will receive this information at the Lodge.

There are other events on the afternoon of Wednesday 19 for students registered on the Laws (general) LLM and the European Law LLM so please DO READ the Induction event overview to be sure you don’t miss these if relevant to you. Note: Those on the Laws (General) and European Law LLM can attend any module overview session as applicable modules are spread across many programmes.

Module Selection - LLM

Please note that the module selection process for the LLM does not start until Thursday 19 September. By this time students will have received their student packs and better understand the regulations and restrictions which apply to module selection and module combinations.

Therefore any selection made on MYSIS prior to this date will automatically be rejected.

Please note that very few LLM modules are capped in size so it is better to make an informed module choice after attending induction events. Capped module are available on a first come first served basis so to be fair we will not allow any selections prior to 19 September 2018.
