Module Description

The module on Exploitation of Energy Resources in Disputed Areas is concerned with legal issues arising in connection with exploration and exploitation of energy resources in disputed areas, both on shore and offshore (eg the South China Sea). It aims to provide both a theoretical and practical approach to the analysis of these issues. It will examine the international law relating to such disputes areas and how exploitation can proceed even where agreement on a boundary delimitation cannot be reached.
