QLLM154 International Regulation and Governance of Energy (Sem 2)

Module Description:

This module will explore the relevant issues impacting the regulation and governance of the energy sector. It will examine central themes and debates in energy regulation and their impact on legal developments and policy reform as it relates to the energy sector.  It will examine specifically, for example, energy regulation models, and the regulation and governance of specific markets such as oil and gas, electricity, nuclear,  and alternate energy sources. These will be explored in reference to issues such as demand, supply, the environment, conservation, resource development, health and safety, property and human rights issues and new technologies. It will also consider the role of non-state actors in the regulation of the industry
