LLM/PG Diploma Year Planner January 2020-21 Full Time

This example year planner outlines the structure and key periods of assessment for January entry one-year LLM programmes.

Enrolment and induction - 17-23 January 2022

  • 17 January 2022 (TBC): University enrolment (Student ID card collection) and information on enrolment procedures will be sent to you by Academic Registry.
  • 17-21 January 2022: A draft programme of induction events will be available via a website from mid December 2022. The induction programme is designed to assist you with this module selection process.
  • 19-23 January 2022: Modules selection period

Teaching Period B21: 24 January - 08 April 2022 (11 weeks)

During this period you will be attending lectures and tutorials arranged over 2 study blocks of 5 weeks of teaching.

We will be offering these in a blended learning experience with online and face-to-face components

  • 24 January 2022: Start of teaching
  • 24 January - 25 February 2022: Study Block C (5 weeks of teaching)
  • 28 February - 4 March 2022: Study week
  • 7 March - 8 April 2022: Study Block D (5 weeks of teaching)
  • 7 March 2022: Dissertation provisional title and outline of your dissertation (Complusory/Elective)
  • 11 April - 4 May 2022: Study period - You will want to use this time to consolidate and develop the work you have done in your first teaching period.
  • 5 May - 1 June 2022: Semester B21 modules: Online Examinations & Final Assssment Exercise
  • 13 May 2022: Semester B21 modules: Essay submission

Teaching Period C21: 6 June - 8 July 2022 (5 weeks)

Start of second period of teaching - During this period you will be attending lectures and tutorials arranged over 5 weeks of teaching and working with your allocated supervisor on your dissertation if this forms part of your programme.

  • 6 June 2022: Start of teaching
  • 11 July - 29 July 2022: Study period - You will want to use this time to consolidate and develop the work you have done in your second teaching period.
  • 1 - 12 August 2022: Semester C21 modules: Online examinations & Final Assessment Exercise
  • 30 August 2022: Semester C21 modules: Essay submission
  • 1 - 12 August 2022: Semester B21 modules - first attempt of late summer resit or extenuating circumstance for Online examinations and Final Assessment Exercise.
  • 30 August 2022: Semester B21 modules - First attempt of essay submission for resit or extenuating circumstance

Teaching Period A21: 27 September - 10 December 2021

Start of your third teaching period - You will be attending your applicable modules and continue working with your allocated dissertation supervisor (if applicable).

  • 3 October 2022: Start of teaching
  • 3 October - 4 November 2022: Study Block A (5 weeks of teaching)
  • 7-11 November 2022: Study week
  • 14 November - 16 December 2022: Study Block B (5 weeks of teaching)
  • 19 December 2022 - 6 January 2023: Study Period - You will want to use this time to consolidate and develop the work you have done in your previous teaching period.
  • 19 December 2022: Dissertation submission (Compulsory/Elective)
  • 5-20 January 2023: Semester A22 modules: Online Examinations & Final Assssment Exercise
  • 16 January 2023 (TBC): Semester A22 modules: Essay submission
  • 5-20 January 2023: Semester C21 modules - First attempt of resit or extenuating circumstance for Online Examination & Final Assessment Exercise
  • 16 January 2023 (TBC): Semester C21 modules - First attempt of Resit or Extenuating Circumstance for essay submission
  • Summer 2023: Graduation ceremonies: Many PGT Law students return to Queen Mary University of London for a graduation ceremony to celebrate their achievement with family and friends
