The (Impossible) Journey of Photography: How Copyright Affects the Meaning-Making in the Process of Circulation

Summary of research

Ekiz’s research focuses on copyright law’s impact on the recontextualisation of photography. Drawing on the contextual studies on photography, Ekiz looks forward to gather and analyse qualitative data regarding the law’s impact on three professions’ engagement with photography: art historians, curators, and photography editors.

Biography

Ekiz is a lawyer from Turkey. He graduated with distinction from QMUL’s Intellectual Property Law LLM Program. Ekiz also publishes and exhibits his works of photography and photo-collages.
