A consideration of the role played by the United States in framing the principle that asylum seekers may not be turned away into danger, and of the paradoxical role of the U.S. in undermining that principle in the last 25 years.

This event seeks to inform students, staff and the general public of new developments in the field of refugee law, and to network with academics and activists in the area.
