The symposium is organised under the auspices of the Human Rights Collegium, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL)
Chair and Opening Remarks: Professor Geraldine van Bueren QC, QMUL.
The symposium will be organised in the form of an interactive workshop with three themes:
Human Rights and the Environment: A Necessary Partnership?
- Professor Joan Razzaque - Professor of Environmental Law, University of the West of England (the introductory remarks)
Human Rights and the Environment: the European Court of Human Rights: Love Lost?
- Dr James Harrison –University of Edinburgh (the introductory remarks)
The impact of the anthropocene on the relationship between human rights and the environment
- Dr Eva Nanopoulos (QMUL)
Concluding Observations: Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice, QMUL
Each Session will take approximately 1 hour (20-25 minute Introduction to the subject and discussion).
