For our inaugural Global Intellectual Property Law Lecture, we are very pleased to have Dr César J Ramírez-Montes as our first speaker in the IP Research Seminar 2016/2017 series. He will present on "The future of the European concept of trade mark functionality”, examining the funtionality issues arising from the permanent exclusions from registrability of three types of shape of product marks, namely natural, functional and value-adding shape marks.
Dr Ramirez-Montes is a lecturer in Intellectual Property at Leeds University where he has taught general IP law, including specialised modules on trade marks and copyright.
